ZyRoute — ST 2110 NMOS control for macOS

Route. Monitor. Sync.
One 2110 control surface.

Built for broadcast engineers running IP video plants — from NMOS discovery to switch health and PTP timing, without a rack of proprietary software.

📡

NMOS Auto-Discovery

Finds NMOS nodes and registries automatically over mDNS (IS-04). Add a device by IP manually when discovery can't cross VLANs.

🕸️

Node-Graph Routing

Drag a sender's output pin to a receiver's input — video, audio and data shown separately, colour-coded, like an Unreal-style node canvas.

Crosspoint Matrix

Prefer a traditional router grid? Switch to a crosspoint matrix view and make connections with a single click (IS-05).

🔀

IS-05 Connection Management

Applies routes via the standard IS-05 Connection API, using the sender's SDP transport file with an automatic transport-params fallback, then verifies the active route.

🌐

Fabric Monitor (SNMP)

Read live per-port bandwidth, link status and errors from any SNMP switch — Netgear, Cisco, Arista, UniFi and more. Standard IF-MIB, any vendor.

⏱️

PTP Grandmaster Watchdog

Tracks the PTP grandmaster across every device and warns you the instant the fabric splits into two clocks — before audio and video drift.

🔔

Instant Alerts

Get a macOS notification the moment a device loses lock, a grandmaster changes, or a switch port takes errors — even with the window closed.

🚦

Oversubscription Warnings

ZyRoute warns before a route pushes a switch uplink past its capacity — catch a 2110 oversubscription before it breaks the picture.

🧭

Readiness & Diagnostics

Capability probes, PTP status, and an event log that records link, sync and route changes — export a JSON report for troubleshooting.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is ZyRoute?

ZyRoute is a macOS app for controlling and monitoring SMPTE ST 2110 IP video systems. It automatically discovers NMOS devices (IS-04), routes video, audio and data streams using a node graph or a crosspoint matrix (IS-05), monitors network switches over SNMP, and watches PTP grandmaster sync across the whole fabric. It is built for broadcast engineers working with Blackmagic and other 2110 gear.

Does ZyRoute work with Blackmagic 2110 devices?

Yes. ZyRoute is designed for Blackmagic Design's ST 2110 range — such as the 2110 IP Converters and other NMOS-enabled devices that support IS-04 discovery and IS-05 connection management. Because it uses the open NMOS standard, it also works with 2110 equipment from other manufacturers that implement IS-04/IS-05.

What is NMOS, and which specifications does ZyRoute support?

NMOS (Networked Media Open Specifications) is the AMWA family of open APIs used to discover and connect ST 2110 devices. ZyRoute supports IS-04 for discovery and registration and IS-05 for connection management, working with either peer-to-peer mDNS discovery or a central NMOS registry.

Can ZyRoute monitor my network switches?

Yes. The built-in Fabric Monitor reads live per-port bandwidth, link status and error counters from any switch with SNMP enabled, using standard IF-MIB OIDs — so it works vendor-neutral with Netgear, Cisco, Arista, UniFi and others. It can even warn you before a route would oversubscribe a switch uplink.

Does ZyRoute monitor PTP timing?

Yes. ZyRoute reads PTP lock state from each NMOS device and compares grandmaster identity across the whole system. If devices start following different grandmasters — a common cause of audio and video drift in 2110 — it flags the split and can send an instant alert. ZyRoute does not act as a grandmaster itself; that role belongs to dedicated hardware.

How much does ZyRoute cost?

ZyRoute is currently in public beta and free to download with a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial.

What are the system requirements?

ZyRoute runs on macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
